Allen Mountain

Allen Mountain has solitude going for it. This is likely due to the fact that Allen is far from trailheads, and that its shortest access route crosses private land criscrossed with mining roads, logging roads, and ugly clearcut logging terrain. Allen's summit is also fully treed. That being said, Allen does offer a view looking east to the Great Range, and the logged area, although a blight on the landscape, does provide views of surrounding peaks. Allen is considered a trailless peak. The standard route (over the private land portion) to it is well-blazed. The remaineder is a bit tricky to follow, but not too bad if you know what you are doing. Refer to the Climbing Logs / Trip reports / Image Galleries below for more information on how to get up Allen.
